Hygienists and oral health therapists

We have dental clinics across Australia and New Zealand who need people with the right training and a caring attitude to join their teams as hygienists and oral health therapists. Whatever stage you’re at in your dental career, whether you’re newly qualified or you already have valuable experience, we want to hear from you.

Why work with us?

Bupa Dental Corporation is an employer of choice in the dental profession. When you work as a hygienist or oral health therapist at one of our clinics, you’ll receive all the benefits of joining an international network of dental professionals.

These benefits include:

  • career advancement opportunities in various fields
  • ongoing training and development to boost your skills
  • local and international networking opportunities
  • excellent working conditions and a wide range of employee benefits.

What will your duties be?

As a hygienist or oral health therapist, you’ll be an important part of a hard-working team. You are highly trained to provide oral examinations and other dental services, and you’re also able to communicate the importance of good oral hygiene to your patients.

Dental hygienist

You assist with oral hygiene and preventative dental care for people of all ages. By encouraging your patients to take good care of their teeth and gums, you’ll help them to avoid tooth decay, gum disease and other oral health problems.

Oral health therapist

This role can vary by state but, generally speaking, you’ll often work with younger people, providing oral examinations and treatments to children, teenagers and young adults. You believe that prevention is always better than cure, and while you are trained to perform tooth extractions and other procedures, you emphasise the importance of good oral health care to make sure your patients only need to see you for their routine check-ups.
