The Clinical Advisory Panel (CAP) provides clinical and strategic guidance on Bupa Dental’s approach to the provision and delivery of quality care across our practice network.  We’re pleased to announce the appointment of seven clinicians from across the Bupa dental network to serve on CAP in 2021.

Dr Velayutham Rhaasa

Donnybrook Dental Surgery WA

Dr Velayutham Rhaasa graduated from the University of Western Australia with a B.Sc.Hons. in Microbiology in 1980. He then graduated in Dentistry with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1984. Following this, he moved to London where he owned two practices and served on several Dental committees in an advisory role. Dr Rhaasa also served as a clinical member in the Private Patients Complaints panel set up by the General Dental Council of the United Kingdom to resolve complaints. His special interests are cosmetic dentistry, Botox and fillers and clear aligners to straighten teeth.

Dr Fozia Yaqoob

Bupa Dental The Gap QLD

Dr Yaqoob qualified from the University of Birmingham (UK) and has a span of 19 years’ experience as a practising clinician. As a member of the Public Health advisory committee, she helped draft guidelines for smokeless tobacco cessation for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE UK). Before joining the Bupa Team two years ago, Dr Yaqoob worked part time in a private practice and part time as a Clinical Supervisor at the University of Queensland. In this role, she mentored Dental students and ensured the safe running of the clinic for both students and patients. Dr Yaqoob currently works as an Associate Dentist at Bupa Dental The Gap where she is fully committed to seeing the practice grow and thrive. She has a keen interest in airway focused dentistry, sleep and nutrition. In her non-clinical time, she has worked as a Dental practice advisor, helping practices meet requirements for best standards of practice.

Dr Andrew Ho

Bupa Dental Castle Towers NSW

Dr Andrew Ho graduated from the University of Sydney in 2000 with honours. After successfully completing the primary examination with the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS), he served as a clinical instructor at Westmead School of Dentistry in 2002. Dr Ho has worked for AHM Dental Clinics and HCF Dental Centres for 15 years and has extensive experience with corporate dentistry. He enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry including wisdom teeth removal, periodontal surgery, implants and orthodontic treatment and has completed courses in:

  • Sydney University Orthodontics Level 1,2,3
  • 2 Year Mini-residency with Excellence in Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopaedics
  • 2 Year program with Progressive Orthodontics
  • 2 Week – Restoring Excellence with Dr Lincoln Harris
  • 2 Week – Hands-on Experience with Live-patient Program in Wisdom Teeth Removal
  • Osstem, Astra and Strauman Implant Courses

Dusty Pearson

Main Street Dental Centre NZ

Dusty, known as ‘Dusty P, OHT’, is an Oral Health Therapist practising in New Zealand. Dusty was born in New Zealand and has also lived in Canada. He has both a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago. Dusty has practiced for District Health Boards providing restorative and preventative care for children in both the North and South Islands, and now exclusively works for Bupa at Main Street Dental Centre in Palmerston North. His areas of interest include patient education, periodontal therapy, working with children, and staying up to date with equipment and products. Dusty is looking forward to having input into the Clinical Advisory Panel from an OHT perspective.

Dr Timothy Abraham

Bliss Dentistry VIC

Dr Timothy Abraham is Melbourne born and raised. He graduated from The University of Adelaide in 2016. Deciding not to return to Melbourne immediately, he went to Ballarat at first before moving to Hobart for several years. He enjoys doing a variety of dental treatments and has future plans to continue expanding his skillset. Dr Abraham has been working at a Bupa clinic for several years and sees opportunities for how clinics and CPD programs offered through Dental Corporation can be improved. He will try to bring these ideas up to the CAP, via the agendas, to help improve the workplace for all clinical employees and is also happy to hear from fellow Bupa employees on how to improve the clinics.

Dr Krishnaraj Sreenivas

Bupa Dental Hobart TAS

Dr Sreenivas has been an Associate Dentist at Bupa Dental Hobart since 2015 and has practiced dentistry for more than 24 years. He considers himself a lifelong learner and continues to devote time to ongoing education and sharing his knowledge and expertise. He is a member of The Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (ASID) and has achieved Accreditation with ASID in 2014. He has also completed the Master Implant program at the prestigious Brener Implant Institute, Sydney. He has also completed Advanced Surgical training with MIS implants in Bogota, Columbia. He is currently working towards completing his Fellowship with the ASID and ICOI. He has undergone advanced hands on surgical training with well-known surgeons like Radoslaw Jadach and Frank Zastrow. He has also undergone advanced training in Computer Guided Implant Surgery and holds a “Bluesky Plan Certified Professional” certification from BlueSkyBio USA. He has also completed the Master Dental Aesthetics Program with the International Academy of Aesthetics and has done undergone hands on training with the greats like Angelo Putignano [Style Italiano fame] and Pascal Magne.
